Overture researches where you could go next, prepares an approach, and sends it to employers on your behalf, anonymously until you decide otherwise. You approve the pitch before it goes out and you release your name separately, per company.
You can stop everything at once, at any time, and nothing on your excluded list is ever researched or approached.
1. What this covers
These terms apply when you create an Overture account and use the service. If you don’t agree with them, don’t create an account. Where these terms describe how we handle your personal information, the Privacy Policy is the fuller account and takes precedence.
2. What you’re asking us to do
Overture acts on your behalf. Specifically, with your consent, it:
- reads the CV you upload and extracts your dates, titles and specifics from it;
- interviews you about your work, records and transcribes that interview, and shows you the transcript to correct before any of it is used;
- researches companies that fit the evidence, and looks up who at those companies would make a hiring decision;
- writes an anonymised profile and approach, which you see and approve before anything is sent;
- sends that approach to the employer, and relays their replies to you.
Each of these is a separate consent you grant and can withdraw in your consent settings. Core processing, which is holding your account and the material you gave us, is required for the service to function at all. The rest is not.
3. What we will never do without asking you first
- Send anything under your real name. Approaches are anonymous by default. Your identity is released to one company at a time, only when you choose to release it, and that choice is not reversible for that company.
- Approach a company on your excluded list. That list is checked before any research, scoring or contact happens. Your current employer belongs on it.
- Use an interview you haven’t confirmed. Nothing from a transcript is used until you have reviewed it and locked it.
- Change what a consent purpose covers silently. If the scope of a purpose changes, you’ll be asked to re-confirm it.
4. What we ask of you
The service only works if what it’s working from is true. Give us accurate information about your own history, and don’t represent someone else. Keep your login to yourself. Don’t use Overture to approach people for anything other than your own employment.
You keep ownership of everything you give us: your CV, your answers, your corrections. You grant us permission to use that material to do the things listed in section 2, and for nothing else.
5. Stopping
There is a single control that pauses all outreach immediately. Use it whenever you want; you don’t need a reason and nothing further is sent while it is on.
You can close your account at any time. Closing it stops all outreach and begins deletion of your material as described in the Privacy Policy. Approaches already delivered to an employer cannot be recalled, and an identity already released to a company stays released to that company.
We may suspend an account that is being used to misrepresent someone, to approach people for something other than employment, or in a way that puts other users at risk. Where we can tell you why, we will.
6. What we don’t promise
Overture does not promise you a job, an interview, or a reply. It researches, writes and sends; employers decide. Predictions about where your career could go are estimates drawn from your own evidence, not forecasts.
7. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we’ll tell you before the change takes effect and give you the chance to close your account instead of accepting it. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
